New information has come to light on Wednesday with regard to the horrible tragedy that occurred yesterday, when an Airbus A320 crashed at the Digne Region, south of France, resulting in the death of 150 people.

According to new evidence that emerged today, the aircraft’s gradual dive took at least 18 minutes and not 8, as it was originally estimated.

France’s environment and transport minister, Ségolène Royal, said that the crew of the Airbus A320 had stopped responding on radio at 10.30am yesterday when the aircraft was flying over the Mediterranean.

From that moment until 10.48 am when the aircraft crashed into a mountain in the French Alps, it gradually shed height from 28,000 feet to less than 2,000 feet without making any Mayday call.

According to Royal, the critical minutes after 10.30am may hold the key to the reasons behind this tragedy.
