Vicky Stamati, the wife of jailed former socialist minister Akis Tsohatzopoulos who escaped from the Dromokaitio Psychiatric Hospital yesterday was found and arrested by the Greek police on Friday.

According to preliminary information, the police arrested the woman at Panagitsa Church located in the area of Haidari, a western suburb of Athens.

The fugitive reportedly called her lawyer Frangiskos Raggousis earlier today and told him that she wants to turn herself in. After he informed the authorities on Stamati’s whereabouts, police forces arrived at Haidari to find the woman waiting for them at the steps outside the church in a very poor psychological state.
