A total lunar eclipse, known as a “blood moon”, will be visible on Sunday night as the moon slowly wanders into the Earth’s shadow. The Earth will completely cover the moon, blocking sunlight, causing a red glow from the small amounts of light passing through the earth’s atmosphere.
The blood moon will only be visible in North America.
The next blood moon will be on September 27.
