Seven people, reported to be undocumented migrants, lost their lives and another four are missing when a smuggler’s vessel attempting to land them onto Greek territory sunk in Turkish territorial waters.

Nine people were rescued, with authorities referring to Syrian and Iraqi nationals.

First reports state that the vessel was aiming for the island of Kos, loaded with the 20 migrants.
