The ISIS militant group has released a photo claiming to show the beheaded Croatian hostage Tomislav Salopek. The Croatian man was captured by members of the extreme Islamist group on July 22 outside Cairo. ISIS had threatened to kill the 30-year old man, if some Muslim prisoners were not released from prison by the Egyptian authorities. The caption under the image of a decapitated body, which was circulated by ISIS-affiliated media read that Salopek, a father of two was killed for his country’s participation in the war against the Islamic State. The Egyptian Interior Ministry said it was seeking independent confirmation of Salopek’s death.
