Men vs. Women in numbers (infographic-surprising numbers)

Men dominate Middle east

Newsroom August 19 10:12

There is a general misconception that there are more women in the world than men. In fact, in 2013 men outnumbered women on the planet by 60 million, as 49.59 per cent were females compared to 50.01 per cent males. 81 countries had a majority of women, 37 countries had a majority of men, while 75 were within 0.5 per cent of gender parity. According to the United Nations’ Department of Economic and Social Affairs, female-dominated populations occur most in eastern Europe, whereas male-dominated populations occur most in the Middle East, and parts of Asia. Ratios are generally predominantly affected by conflict and cultural influences. Russia for example, took the most casualties in WWII and has been recovering ever since. Let’s see which countries have the most men and women in the world in the following infographics.
