The Find Madeleine campaign’s Twitter account was taken down after continuous abuse from online trolls. The decision was made by Gerry and Kate McCann, the missing girl’s parents, following a disagreement with the Find Ben Needham Twitter account. The Find Maddie account blocked the Ben Needham campaign on Twitter after stating: “We do not want to be associated with some of the types of people they follow.”

Ben Needham’s mum had been critical of the money spent by police to search for Madeleine compared to other children, including her son, who disappeared from the Greek island of Kos 24 years ago.
