Main opposition New Democracy’s temporary leader Evangelos Meimarakis met with the new Parliament President Yiannis Voutsis and discussed about the operation of Parliament.

“I believe that as an experienced parliamentarian, he will protect Parliament’s prestige and we will all contribute to this. It is Parliament that must be expressed and not the government,” Meimarakis said.

Meimarakis said that ND wanted the first draft legislation in Parliament not to be tabled as ultra urgent and as one article.

Regarding his candidacy for New Democracy leadership, he preferred not make any comments, since, as he said, Greek people are more interested in the taxes to be applied by the government.
