The European Summit started on Thursday in Brussels with the discussion focusing on refugee issue and Brexit.

Arriving at EU Summit German Chancellor Angela Merkel said that it is necessary to find a solution supported by all 28 member states of the European Union and stressed the need to tackle refugee traffickers.

She also said that the migration issue is still on the top of EU agenda adding that EU should protect its external borders.

Asked on the Brexit issue, Lithuanian president Dalia Grubauskaite said: “I think everybody will have its own drama, and then we will agree”.

Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras said that “Europe is at a crucial crossroads, as we to have to face three different crises. We have financial crisis that continues, security crisis and immigration crisis. Therefore we have to stay united and show solidarity everywhere, not only in the northwestern part and southeast part of Europe and Mediterranean Sea. The solution to the refugee issue is not racism and raising walls. The future of Europe is not walls and xenophobia and European rules should not apply only to some countries, but to all countries”.

British Prime Minister David Cameron said: “We’ve got some important work to do today and tomorrow and it’s going to be hard.

“I’ll be battling for Britain. If we can get a good deal I’ll take that deal. But I will not take a deal that doesn’t meet what we need. I think it’s much more important to get this right than to do anything in a rush. But with goodwill, with hard work, we can get a better deal for Britain.”
