Migrant settlements in the center of Athens (pics+vid)

Stranded refugees have set more than fifty tents in a park

Newsroom February 26 11:11

The refugees and immigrants who are stranded in Athens have set more than fifty tents in a park in the center of Greece’s capital since they are not allowed to continue their journey to northern Greece and then to other EU countries.

The situation is out of control, since more refugees and immigrants are arriving every day, while Greek authorities have not taken action. Only the people of NGOs who have rushed to the area are trying to help and coordinate the situation.

A few miles away, the stranded refugees have also turned Victoria square into a temporary settlement.

Yesterday, two immigrants attempted to hung themselves by a tree at the square protesting for being stuck in Greece and not being able to continue their journey, since FYROM has protesting for being stuck in Greece and not being able to continue their journey, since FYROM has closed its border.
