“VAT hike on islands is a criminal act, an unconstitutional decision, a decision for which I want to tell you that we fought inside and outside the Parliament”, president of ANEL Panos Kammenos stated while visiting the Greek island of Syros on the occasion of the agreement of “understanding and cooperation” for the exploitation of Ermoupolis camp and shooting range in Vari.

Following Kammenos’ statement, main opposition party New Democracy released a statement calling him to submit his resignation.
