Even though up to now the weather was going upside down, it seems that the summer has finally arrived with meteorologists forecasting a great rise in temperatures all over Greece for the next couple days.

A heat wave with temperatures reaching and probably exceeding 40°C is expected throughout Greece from Friday and through the weekend.

Mostly fair weather and winds from variable directions are forecast for Thursday with temperatures ranging from 16°C-35°C.

Fair in the eastern parts with temperatures between 18°C-36°C. Sunny over the Aegean islands and Crete, 20°C-31°C. Fair in Athens, 18°C-35°C; the same for Thessaloniki, 18°C-33°C.

However, there is a high risk for fires due to the winds.
