President of the European Council Donald Tusk warned the EU’s capacity to host the rising numbers of refugees and migrants was reaching it limits. During a press conference in the Chinese city of Hangzhou on the sidelines of the G20 meeting, Tusk called on the international community to provide aid in dealing with the rising flows of refugees entering the EU. ‘We have to be realists and pragmatists’ he said. ‘The problem is not only the refugees coming from the conflict zones, like Syria…W are talking about 60 to 70 million displaced people in the world, a phenomenon that also happening here in Asia’, he pointed out. He went on to says that only an effort on a global scale could produce results and called on the members of the G20 to take their share of responsibility in addressing the issue.
