Following the controversy caused by the unanimous decision of the 5th Oreokatro primary school Parent’s Association to refuse to accept refugee children in two of the region’s primary schools, the President of the Municipality’s Association, Athanasios Tsolakidis resigned from his position. In a letter of resignation he released, Tsolakidis explained his decision to step down was out of sensitivity, as he was accused on all sides over his stance, despite him refraining from voicing his opinion on the matter and having conscientiously served from his post for 17 years.
