PAOK stun Fiorentina in Italy. Olympiakos advance to next round (videos)

Panathinaikos knocked out of competition

Newsroom November 25 08:56

An amazing goal by PAOK forward Rodrigues in the last minute of added time gave the Greek team an incredible 3-2 victory in Italy against Fiorentina in the group stage of the Europa League, Thursday night. The match saw the Greek team take a 2-0 lead early in the first half (Shakhov 5’, Campos 26’). Fiorentina pegged back the deficit before half time with a Bernardeschi goal in the 33 minute and managed to draw level on the 55th minute. PAOK secured the win in the final minute after a ball to Rodrigues on the counter lead to the winning goal. PAOK are sitting in second spot, tied with Qarabag, in Group J and still have hopes of advancing to the next stage of the competition. Greek champions Olympiakos drew 1-1 at home with Swiss team Young Boys and advanced to the next stage 32 of the Europa League. Olympiakos are in second spot in Group B. Finally, Panathinaikos disappointed again and lost to Ajax in Amsterdam (2-0) and were knocked out of the competition.
