Despite the fact that the Greek parliament recently passed a gender identity law the allows teenagers to undergo sex reassignment surgery as young as 15, Greek society is quite conservative when it comes to matters of sexuality and the openness with which people express their sexual preferences in public. A recent TV commercial of popular Toy brand name “Jumbo” released caused an uproar when it depicted two mature men as a couple a toy store. The video shows a couple (male and female) addressing the camera saying there are a new couple, when the two men, in their 40s or 50s, come into the frame and says that they are an old couple that also shop from Jumbo for toys. The commercial caused some backlash, with the comments on YouTube ranging from “The boys are preparing a g***bang”, while another comment rebukes the creators of the video saying it is a toy shop not a sex shop. “You chose the benders and Pakistanis to advertise Micky Mouse?????”, he writes with many likes under his comment.
