5.3 magnitude earthquake strikes near Cyprus

It was located 42km east of Nicosia

A strong 5.3 earthquake on the Richer Scale struck off the island of Cyprus.

According to initial reports, no damage has been recorded. The epicentre is located 42 kilometers east of Nicosia, near Larnaca.

The focal depth was estimated at 60 km.
