A 4.0 magnitude earthquake on the Richter scale occurred shortly after 3 pm on Saturday off the coast of the island of Chios.
The tremor was recorded at 19 km northwest of Chios with a focal depth of 15.7 km.
The earthquake was felt in Lesvos and especially in the southern part of the island, including the city of Mytilene, while no damage was reported.
