The draw for Maria Sakkari was favourable until the quarterfinals of the Australian Open 2022, where she is projected to meet top seed Ashleigh Barty or last year’s tournament winner, Naomi Osaka.
In the draw that took place with a 75-minutes delay due to the Djokovic case, Sakkari was drawn with Tatiana Maria from Germany in the first round.
If the Greek goes through she will play either with the Belarusian Aliaksandra Sasnovich or with a qualifier, while in the third round she is most likely to meet Russian Veronika Kudermetova.
