Watch impressive Greek and French frigates in joint training (video-photos)

The Hellenic and French Navies took part in joint training in the context of PASSEX (Passing Exercise) type between the frigate “Themistocles” and the French frigate “FS Provence” which was conducted in the wider sea area of ​​the Myrtos Sea and the Strait of Kythera, on Monday, January 31, 2022, as announced by the Hellenic National Defence General Staff (HNDGS).

During the joint training, surface fire was carried out against a rocky islet while composition and exchange of tactical images were conducted, naval deterrence (Maritime Interdiction Operations – MIO), communications, advanced maneuvers and air defense warfare (Air Defense Exercise – ADEX) were also performed.

It involved 6 fighter jets – two F-16s from the 116th Combat Wing (AM) and 4 F-4s from the 117th Airborne Division – which contributed, according to the relevant announcement by the HNDGS, to the promotion of the level of operational readiness, the combat capability and cooperation of the participants in a bilateral and allied context.
