The Prosecutor of Sparta filed a criminal prosecution for a crime against the 40-year-old man for the attempted rape of the 22-year-old in the center of the city.

According to reports by local media, the incident took place two hours after midnight on Thursday.

The shocked girl started screaming and tried to escape from Leonidou Street, but the perpetrator just outside the Military Club attacked her again, threw her on the sidewalk, tried to rip her pants off to rape her.

The girl’s female friend had meanwhile arrived and confronted the perpetrator who tried to flee the scene but was arrested by police who had just arrived.
