The Slovakian government has rejected reports circulated by Moscow about the destruction of part of the S-300 anti-aircraft system equipment sent to Ukraine to reinforce Ukrainian forces against the Russians.
In a statement, Slovak Prime Minister Eduard Heger, who met with Zelensky last week to formalise the S-300 mission, said: “Slovakia categorically denies Russian propaganda that the S-300 defence system sent to Ukraine has been destroyed. This is a hoax and Ukraine has officially confirmed it to us.”
Earlier, the Russian Defence Ministry had stated that “the equipment of the S-300 anti-aircraft missile unit delivered to Ukraine from one of the European countries was hit by high-precision Caliber naval missiles. Four S-300 launchers and up to 25 members of the Ukrainian Armed Forces were hit in Dnepropetrovsk.”
