MEP Nina Kasimati reported extreme verbal attack by Albanian PM Edi Rama

Edi Rama's attack took place after her question in the Plenary regarding Turkey's aggression

Newsroom October 13 01:45

A verbal attack by the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, has been reported by the parliamentary representative of the party of the European Left in the Council of Europe, Nina Kasimati.

According to Mrs. Kasimati’s post, the “extreme verbal attack” by Edi Rama took place after her question in the Plenary regarding Turkey’s aggression.

Nina Kasimati, as she stated, asked the prime minister of Albania “how Albania’s accession to the EU goes hand in hand with the ever-deepening strategic relationship with Turkey, given the support that Albania enjoys by the region’s countries that respect the European acquis and international law, but they suffer the aggression of Turkey”.

According to Mrs. Kasimati, Edi Rama in his “insulting response in which he referred to “the lady” “the Greek woman” also “gave praise to Turkey”.

The result, as reported by Nina Kasimati, was “a reaction from the heads of all the political groups, who unanimously decided as a sign of displeasure not to attend the official dinner that the Albanian was planned to host for them on Wednesday”.
