Greek Health authorities investigate 21 deaths and 1,600 reports of side effects from the Covid vaccine

In 2022, 21 incidents of death were reported while a total of 63 have been reported

Newsroom April 24 07:41

More than 1,600 reports of adverse events and 21 deaths are being investigated by the Greek health authorities as being related to the coronavirus vaccination, according to data published by the National Organization for Medicines (EOF). In particular, as noted in the report “Collective data E.O.F. for reports in Greece of suspected Adverse Reactions of Vaccines against COVID-19 for the year 2022”.

The report contains a total of reports of possible Adverse Events that were submitted to the EOF in 2022 with the Yellow Card and relate to incidents that took place in both 2022 and 2021. For this reason, it is not possible to reduce the number of reported AEs to a percentage per number of vaccine doses. All reports have been forwarded to the European base (EudraVigilance).

For 2022, out of a total of 1,633 reports, 1,344 were deemed serious, while 40% concerned 30-49-year-olds. Another 6 out of 10 reports of side effects were made by women.

Also in 2022, 21 incidents of death were reported while a total of 63 have been reported, of which 38 took place in 2021, while for 4 there is no relevant information.

As specified in the report:

-2 of these reports were assessed as having a possible link with vaccination, 1 with Comirnaty (Pfizer), and 1 with Vaxzevria (AstraZeneca)

-12 of these reports were assessed as not possibly associated with
vaccination
-14 of these reports could not be assessed based on the available data that has been sent
-35 reports have not been assessed because additional requested data is expected (e.g. findings of forensic reports and other information).
