Following Popi Tsapanidou, who announced her departure from SYRIZA‘s Parliamentary Group in the morning, Kostas Barkas and Kalliopi Vetta followed at midday.

In their letters to the Speaker of Parliament, Nikitas Kaklamanis, they stated:

Kostas Barkas

“Dear Mr President,

With this letter, I hereby inform you that I am leaving the Parliamentary Group of SYRIZA Progressive Alliance (paragraph 5 of Article 16 of the Parliament’s Rules of Procedure). From now on, I will carry out my parliamentary duties as an independent MP for Preveza.”

Kalliopi Vetta

“Dear Mr President,

With this letter, I hereby inform you that I am leaving the Parliamentary Group of SYRIZA Progressive Alliance, pursuant to Article 16, paragraph 4 of the Parliament’s Rules of Procedure.

From now on, I will carry out my parliamentary duties as an independent MP.”
