Newly crowned Greek Superleague Champions and Cup winners AEK FC Athens have reportedly turned down a €15-million offer to release forward Levi Samuel García.
According to a report, an unspecified team from abroad tabled 15 million euros to acquire the Trinidadian player but the answer was negative.
The 26-year-old is coming off an excellent season, as in 37 matches with the “yellow and black” jersey scored 18 goals and provided six assists, which ranks him among the leaders in their frenzied run of AEK to the double.
According to the deal made with Beitar Jerusalem in the summer of 2020 when AEK acquired him, if the player were to be sold, 60% of the money would go to AEK and the remaining 40% to the Israelis, minus the initial 2.5 million euros which then cost the Greek champions to buy his rights.
