Barack Obama left Greek island accompanied by security and armoured vehicles – Watch video

He is being hosted by Tom Hanks

Newsroom June 20 05:16

Armoured vehicles, accompanying vehicles, and EL.AS patrol cars. were recruited for the departure of the former president, Barack Obama, from Antiparos to Paros and from there on a private flight to Athens, as evidenced by the video of protothema.gr.

Throughout his stay on the island of Antiparos – a total of 4 days – he avoided walking in the alleys, as he cancelled yesterday morning’s walk “due to excessive heat”. But together with Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson, they preferred a short cruise in the Cyclades on Sunday to Sifnos where they disembarked to dine at a well-known restaurant.

In two days, the former American president will appear at the SNF Nostos Conference 2023, where he will discuss ways to strengthen democracy and the importance of supporting the next generation of leaders together with SNF President Andreas Dracopoulos.

This is the second time Barack Obama has visited the SNFCC. In 2016, during his last international visit as part of his administration, he delivered a moving speech from the stage of the Stavros Niarchos Hall.
