Bangladeshi man prosecuted for the murder of Polish woman in Kos

The man denies the charges

Newsroom June 22 04:59

The developments in the case of the murder of 27-year-old Anastasia-Patricia Rubinska, who was found dead on Sunday in the Alykes area of Kos, are dramatic.

An additional charge of premeditated homicide was recently brought against the 32-year-old Bangladeshi suspect. The Bangladeshi has already been remanded in custody, as before Anastasia’s body was found he had been prosecuted for kidnapping, which he had denied.

The two phases of the preliminary investigation, i.e. the first, which concerns the kidnapping, and the second, which concerns the homicide, are expected to be joined.

At the same time, Greek Police have a new piece of evidence that could overturn the data so far about the place of Anastasia’s murder.

In particular, ELAS allegedly has video material from another camera, which shows the Bangladeshi and Anastasia on his motorcycle, possibly leaving the defendant’s house. Until now, the authorities estimated that the murder took place inside the particular house, which police had thoroughly investigated.

The movement of the motorcycle was recorded near the house of the accused and the finding seems to be confirmed by the mobile phone antennas.

According to the material, the Bangladeshi, a short time later, returned home and left again. Police sources claim that it is possible that the 32-year-old killed Anastasia outside and then returned home to take the sheet and bags in which her body was found covered. He returned home at 5 in the morning.

According to the same sources, this is also the reason why yesterday afternoon the Pakistani roommate of the 32-year-old was called for a supplementary statement as in his initial statement he had claimed that the 32-year-old and the 27-year-old had left the house and after hours the Bangladeshi had returned.

In the past few days, there have been reports that the murder took place in an abandoned house near the place where Anastasia was found dead.

Authorities are now awaiting the results of the DNA tests and histological analyses, which are expected to shed light on the case. In addition, investigations continue in the area, to identify elements that will tie any loose ends of the case.

The authorities are focusing on the circumstances under which the murder of Anastasia took place and the location of her body in a place that had been searched in the previous days, but nothing had been found.
