“Our priority is not only to protect the external borders of Europe but also to protect the people,” said Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis during his meeting with the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola in Brussels.
“Protecting our external borders is just one part of our immigration policy,” the prime minister said.
Referring to the victory of New Democracy in the elections and the following day, he said: “We are committed to strengthening our position in the EU. The cycle of pain and trauma that has plagued Greek society for the last ten years is now closed.”
The meeting took place at the headquarters of the European Parliament. At noon, the prime minister will take part in the work of the European Council.
