Sad images come from the historic monastery of Saint Loukas in Boeotia, Greece, buildings of which are on fire.

The fire in its wake completely burned the grounds surrounding the historic monastery.

The first flames broke out inside the Monastery and are burning one of the oldest buildings, where, according to information, old icons were housed in them in the past.

Fortunately, the monastery was evacuated of visitors and monks in time.

At the same time, the Metropolitan of Thebes of Levadeia and Avlida, Georgios himself in at the scene in tears fighting the flames.

It is noted that the monastery is protected by UNESCO while the Minister of Culture Lina Mendoni is also present at the site.
