Georgiadis: Kasselakis calls for reduction in healthcare

The Minister of Health emphasised growth in public expenditure in healthcare

Newsroom April 24 12:20

The Minister of Health, Adonis Georgiadis, reacted strongly to comments made by the president of SYRIZA, Stefanos Kassalakis, regarding healthcare, particularly his call for allocating “at least 5% of GDP on public health” if he were to become prime minister. Georgiadis, in response, highlighted that Kassalakis’ proposal implies a reduction in healthcare expenses, pointing out that in 2022, healthcare expenditure was at 5.1% of GDP according to ELSTAT, and currently estimated at around 5.8% of GDP.
