Swimming: National record in the 200m backstroke by Christou

He achieved it on the first day of the Panhellenic Swimming Championships in Thessaloniki

Newsroom May 17 09:30

Apostolos Christou took back the national record in the 200m backstroke, recording an impressive 1:56.34, during the first day of the Panhellenic Swimming Championships, at the Poseidonion in Thessaloniki.

The Olympiacos athlete had been the holder of the national record for years, but he saw 19-year-old Apostolos Sisko break it at the World Championships in Doha last February, when he swam twice (qualifying and final) in 1:56.64.
