Kasselakis on the European elections: Chances are of nearing close to first – Mitsotakis is dedicated to his work

The president of SYRIZA revealed he wanted to become a priest but ultimately set his sights on becoming Prime Minister and a father before 40

Newsroom May 20 12:35

SYRIZA’s president Stefanos Kasselakis sees reprisal towards injustices as expressed in an interview where he praised the Prime Minister for being dedicated to his work, described his party as cohesive, and noted that former leader Alexis Tsipras has no political ambitions.

Kasselakis highlighted his unconventional campaign strategy, emphasizing his paucity of a communications consultant and disclaimer to follow common image-crafting advice. Addressing criticism for buying a luxury apartment in Kolonaki, he denounced the disparity of the purchase of a €1.8 million apartment especially when many young Greeks continue to live with their parents despite having a strong resume coupled with remarkable credentials. He expressed a deep commitment to addressing these inequalities and the social exclusion affecting 26% of the population.

Stefanos Kasselakis expressed his determination to democratically crush the system, highlighting his innate empathy shaped by years of concealing his sexual orientation. He expressed the importance of genuine understanding over contrived image-building.

Regarding his family, Kasselakis spoke of challenging a system, framing his pursuit as a fight against injustice rather than individuals. He reminisced about childhood dreams of becoming an astronaut or a priest, noting that religion helped his family through tough times, ultimately setting his sights on becoming Prime Minister. Regarding his personal life, Kasselakis expressed his desire to become a father before 40 and reflected on the importance of being with the right person.
