Fire burns in Vari-Koropi, near factories and homes – Evacuation order for Lambrika and Kitsi (videos-photos)

Civil Protection urges people to move towards Agia Marina Avenue & Vari - Exit from Attiki Odos to Koropi & Agia Marina closed

Firefighting forces are battling the flames from a fire that has broken out near Vari-Koropi Avenue, with the emergency service 112 issuing evacuation orders for two areas.

Specifically, a message from the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection’s service is urging residents of the Lambrika area and residents from Kitsi to evacuate towards Agia Marina Avenue and Vari, respectively. This was the third message from 112 in the area within a few minutes.

The initial 112 message for evacuation stated: “Forest fire in the area. If you are in the Lambrika area, evacuate towards Agia Marina Avenue.”

The next message stated: “Forest fire in the area. If you are in the Kitsi area of Koropi, evacuate towards Vari.”

According to the Fire Department, the fire started in a boat parking area.

According to Attiki Odos, the exit towards Koropi-Vari-Agia Marina is closed. The exit towards Markopoulo-Paiania remains open.

A total of 42 firefighters are operating at the scene, alongside 2 teams of land patrols and 16 vehicles. Additionally, aerial support is provided by 2 aircraft and 4 helicopters.
