A significant development has emerged in the investigation of the fatal fight that occurred in the early hours of April 28 outside a well-known club in Maroussi, resulting in the death of a 23-year-old and injuries to two others. The Homicide Department’s conclusion, along with two critical video documents, sheds new light on the case, as reported by protothema.gr.

New Evidence

The videos reveal that the 23-year-old victim was fatally stabbed by the assailant, who was determined to “finish” him off without any prior threat from the victim. Initial reports suggested that the 23-year-old had pulled out a gun and pointed it at the 24-year-old attacker, prompting the latter to stab him in self-defense. However, the new footage contradicts this narrative.

In the videos presented by protothema.gr, the perpetrator is seen emerging from the club, seemingly intent on killing. He is accompanied by six others from his group and has his hand in his left pocket, where he conceals the knife.

Disturbing Footage

The 23-year-old, after receiving a distress message from a friend, arrives outside the club. The assailant quickly approaches and, within 10 seconds, delivers a fatal stab to the victim’s carotid artery.

Bleeding profusely, the 23-year-old pulls out a pistol from his bag but lacks the strength to fire it, causing the gun to jam. He then moves away, collapsing a few meters from the scene, while the 24-year-old assailant runs back into the club.

Perpetrator’s Nonchalance

Witness statements included in the case file describe the assailant’s composure and cynicism shortly after the brutal murder. One friend of the perpetrator recounted:

“A few minutes later, K. came, who had blood on his clothes. K., who was cool, told us that there was chaos outside. I asked him why he had blood and he replied that nothing had happened and that everything was fine. After that, K. left and I never saw him again.”

Official Findings

The homicide investigation’s conclusion highlights the unprovoked nature of the attack:

“A few seconds after the people left the store, a fight seems to take place between K., N., and D. during which K. hits N. in the neck with a knife. Immediately after being struck, N. takes out a pistol from the bag he had crossed on his chest and tries to shoot K. as he runs back inside the store.”

The attack was described as “professional” and lethal. The medical examiner’s report on the 23-year-old’s body noted that the stab wound caused “carotid artery erosion” and led to the victim’s nearly instantaneous death.

Legal Proceedings and Ongoing Search

Based on this evidence, the Homicide Department has charged the 24-year-old with Involuntary Manslaughter in a Calm Mental State. However, 70 days after the incident, the assailant remains at large. The victim’s family, represented by lawyer Maria Vagena, is calling for the restoration of their child’s memory and justice through the arrest and punishment of the perpetrator.
