Lefkada-Ilias Georgakis: “The Return”, the title of the journalist’s new book

Lefkada is celebrated in the author's new book through 68 collectible photographs and paintings, as well as poems and prose by journalist Elias Georgakis.

A new book featuring 68 collectible photographs and paintings of Lefkada, along with prose and poems by journalist Elias P. Georgakis, has been released by Kampyli Publications. The book will be presented for the first time on Sunday, August 11th, at 8 p.m., at the Angelos Sikelianos Garden Theater in Lefkada. The event will include a rich musical program.

Elias Georgakis is a journalist for the newspaper “TA NEA” (since 1983) and a poet. He was born (1960) and raised in Lefkada. He studied journalism and covers insurance and labor issues. In 2005, he was awarded for his journalistic contribution against racism and xenophobia, within the framework of the EQUAL community initiative. His efforts have significantly contributed to the promotion of tourism in Lefkada and the preservation of the island’s cultural and intellectual heritage. He has published four poetry collections titled “Sea Elegy,” “The Other Blue,” “Orpheus 2” (published by AGKYRA), “Dancing Reds” (published by AGKYRA), as well as a research book titled “My Lefkada” (faggotobooks). His lyrics have been set to music by well-known Greek composers.
