Police authorities have arrested three people for illegally transporting immigrants in areas of Evros.

Specifically, in a settlement of Evros, police officers of the Border Guard Department of the Tychero Police Directorate of Alexandroupolis arrested yesterday, Saturday, August 3, the driver and the passenger of a private car, who were illegally transporting seven immigrants inside the country.

The driver of the vehicle, who was found to have no driving licence, initially failed to comply with a police stop signal and continued on his way. He eventually stopped the vehicle and was arrested along with the passenger.

Police investigation revealed that last March, the theft of the car had been reported to an Attica police station and that it also carried fake license plates.

Also, a foreigner was arrested for illegal transportation of four immigrants on the Ormenio-Ardanios highway, by officers of the Border Guard Department of Orestiada.

The policemen confiscated the vehicles, mobile phones and fake license plates.
