The nine fishermen and the captain of a fishing boat, which sank after hitting a shoal this morning in the sea area north of the port of Naoussa, Paros, are alive and well.

According to the Coast Guard, efforts were made by other vessels to tow the fishing boat but it eventually sank due to the influx of water.

The occupants of the fishing boat were picked up by another fishing boat while a Coast Guard anti-fouling boat is at the spot and a floating barrier has been placed as a precautionary measure.
