An unexpected incident occurred a few days ago in Porto Lafia in southern Evia, when a fisherman spotted a shark tangled in his net.
According to experts, it was clearly a juvenile great white shark (Carcharodon carcharias).
A related video has already been posted on social media, sparking intense interest and debate:
As boatfishing.gr reports, its distinctive features – such as its head shape, eyes and teeth – leave no doubt about the species’ identity. Although there are other shark species, such as the mako (Isurus oxyrinchus) or Lamia (Lamna Nasus), that may resemble the great white shark, they do not have the same characteristic teeth, which confirms the identification of the juvenile shark.
The capture of a great white shark is a rare occurrence in Greek waters, making this incident even more remarkable.
This makes this shark even more remarkable.
