The new documentary on Elizabeth Taylor, set to premiere on television in a few days, sheds light on aspects of her legendary life beyond the widely discussed scandals, eight marriages, and diamonds.
“Elizabeth Taylor: Rebel Superstar” highlights her more human and genuine sides, including her personal battles, philanthropic efforts, contributions to the fight against AIDS, and the strength of her character behind the glamour.
Kim Kardashian’s involvement will, as mentioned, bring a fresh perspective to the narrative as she shares the impact Taylor had on her own life.
The three-part documentary will premiere on Friday, September 27, on BBC2. Among the key contributors is Taylor’s granddaughter, Naomi Wilding, who believes this re-evaluation has been long overdue, according to The Guardian. “I hesitated to participate, but the series tells my grandmother’s story from a more human perspective,” she said. “We’re in a period of reflection. Recent events show that we are ready to view celebrities from a different angle. They may have wealth and power, but they are still human, vulnerable, and have emotions.”

She also believes her grandmother was a forerunner of today’s reality stars. “She was the first celebrity to live her life entirely in the public eye. It wasn’t her choice, at least not initially. But once she understood it, she used it as a force for good,” she emphasized.
The documentary includes never-before-heard recordings and testimonies from her close circle, including her goddaughter, Paris Jackson, daughter of Michael Jackson. Also featured are Joan Collins, Sharon Stone, Margaret O’Brien, and Dr. Anthony Fauci. The film is directed by James House, with Kardashian involved in its production.
“She was unapologetically herself. She was a fighter. Living proof that you can continue to evolve, change, and have different chapters in your life,” Kardashian said, adding, “She paved the way for all of us who came after her. She’s the role model.”
