At 7 a.m. the polls opened for the second round of the internal elections in PASOK-Ministry of Change, for the election of the party’s president, in which the current president Nikos Androulakis, and the mayor of Athens, Haris Dukas, are facing off. Androulakis, in the first round last Sunday, came first with 29.64% while Dukas came a close second, with 21.41% against Pavlos Geroulanos with 21.12%, after the hours-long thriller of vote counting.
Today’s voting will last until 7 pm and a little later the winner will be announced. An important role will be played by the turnout, which in the second round is expected to be reduced by about 30%, according to the data of the previous 2021 elections.
The 303,000 people who voted last Sunday are eligible to participate in today’s vote. They also do not have to pay the 3 euro fee again as the election voting process ends today.
