According to new reports, Angelina Jolie’s rumored romance with British rapper Akala seems to be heating up. The 49-year-old actress reportedly spent two nights with the 40-year-old musician at a London hotel last week, as sources revealed to The Sun.
An insider shared that the pair stayed together on Wednesday and Thursday night in Jolie’s hotel suite. Akala is said to have arrived discreetly at the hotel two hours after Jolie checked in.
“Akala quietly left the hotel in one of Angelina’s cars on Friday morning, just a few hours before the premiere of her latest film,” the source added, referring to Maria, the biopic about opera legend Maria Callas, which debuted at the London Film Festival.
The couple has reportedly been taking great care to keep their relationship private, using separate cars and secret entrances to avoid media attention. “It’s a real relationship,” the source confirmed.
Both Jolie and Akala attended the London Film Festival, though they arrived separately and were photographed apart. After the premiere, the two are said to have enjoyed a romantic dinner at Soho House.
The pair was first linked in May 2024 when Akala joined Jolie and her daughters, Zahara and Shiloh, at the Calabash Literary Festival in Jamaica. Since then, they’ve been seen together on several occasions, including a party at Atelier Jolie in New York on September 28. Akala also accompanied Jolie to the Maria premiere at the New York Film Festival the same week.
While some reports, including InTouch, claim that the couple has been seeing each other for over a year, a source told People in August that they are just friends who share a common passion for social and humanitarian causes.
Jolie’s last confirmed relationship was with ex-husband Brad Pitt, with whom she shares six children. The couple split in 2016.
