Newsroom October 22 10:13

The Panhellenic Seafarers’ Federation (PNO) is on strike today, Tuesday, and tomorrow, Wednesday, with ships remaining docked in ports due to the mobilization.

The seafarers are demanding, among other things, the abolition of Law 41/50, immediate amendment of the article concerning the four-month scheduling of passenger and high-speed vessels, the signing of a collective labor agreement with a 12% increase, and the enforcement of a seven-month mandatory scheduling.

  • Abolition of Law 41/50,
  • Immediate amendment of the article regarding the four-month scheduling of passenger and high-speed vessels,
  • Enforcement of a seven-month mandatory scheduling,
  • In practice, not just on paper, the non-approval of routes by the S.A.S. and the Minister in view of the new scheduling period, without the unwavering adherence to maritime labor legislation.

In the name of interests, no one can and has no right to undermine maritime labor rights or jeopardize the safety and protection of human life at sea through this process.

We extend a broad call to seafarers, islanders, and all stakeholders to stand alongside the Federation’s decision to collectively defend our rightful claims.

Safe maritime transport is not conceivable without seafarers having well-established rights.
