Tsitsipas defeats Dutch player Botic van de Zandschulp 7-6(3), 7-5

Newsroom October 24 09:30

Stefanos Tsitsipas defeated Dutch player Botic van de Zandschulp with a score of 7-6(3), 7-5.

Tsitsipas advanced to the quarterfinals of the Swiss Indoor tournament in Basel.

The top Greek tennis player eliminated van de Zandschulp in 1 hour and 46 minutes with a score of 7-6(3), 7-5, and will await the winner of the match between Pedro Martínez and Arthur Fils in the quarterfinals.

The Match

Although Tsitsipas started the match somewhat sluggishly and suffered a break in the first game, he managed to respond immediately to level the score at 1-1. After saving a break point, he held his serve in the third game to go up 2-1.

Following this strange start, the Greek champion displayed consistency in his performance, taking the tightly contested first set thanks to his composure in critical moments.

He first saved a break point at 5-5, 30-40, and shortly after executed an impressive tiebreak, winning it convincingly with a score of 7-3.
