Appearing on the morning show Super Katerina on Wednesday, November 6, Valantis celebrated both Trump’s and his cousin’s victories. Clearly pleased, he stated, “Today started beautifully for me, thanks to Trump’s victory. My cousin has been with the Republican Party and has served for at least 15 years. They have elections every year, so he’s in touch with Trump—who, by the way, is an incredibly sensitive, decent person.”
Valantis confirmed that he plans to attend the January inauguration: “On January 20, I’ll be at the White House for the swearing-in ceremony.”
He also shared that he had spoken with his cousin, who is thrilled with the election results: “I talked to my cousin, and he’s very happy. I believe the real surprise was that Trump swept everything, winning both the Senate and House. He speaks Greek quite well and is an amazing person. He’s done so much for Greece, things people don’t even know about.”
Valantis further emphasized that many Greek Americans are involved in U.S. politics and support Greece: “I heard a journalist saying that Greeks in America who are involved in politics don’t do much for us. He’s deeply uninformed. Many people don’t realize what these people do for Greece and that America does care about us. You’ll see better relations going forward. The American people chose Trump again because they saw prosperity during his previous term. I was completely certain that Donald Trump would be reelected, and equally confident about Gus.”
