The Miss Universe 2024 pageant kicked off with a grand show featuring contestants wearing costumes representing their home countries. Greek representative, Christiana Katsieri, was also present.

The contestants strutted down the runway at the CDMX stadium in Mexico City, wearing costumes inspired by their national arts, deities, and flags, while some had more unusual interpretations.

For example, Miss Nicaragua, Geyssell García, showcased a costume inspired by the famous cathedral of her country.

The Kenyan representative, Irene Mukii, wore a costume featuring the faces of several athletes who have excelled in long-distance running.

Miss Argentina wore a jungle-inspired costume featuring a toucan, representing the waterfalls of the country.

Miss Colombia, Emilia Dides, used her feathered costume to emphasize the cultural ties between her country and the host nation of the pageant.

Miss Chile, Emilia Dides, appeared wearing a giant roulette wheel in tribute to the popular Chilean TV show “Sabado Gigante.”

Miss Mexico, Maria Fernanda Beltran, wore a spectacular costume to honor the Aztecs.

Other impressive costumes were showcased by representatives from Denmark, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, and Egypt.

Greece’s Appearance
The Greek representative, Christiana Katsieri, chose to wear an ancient Greek chiton and held the Niki of Samothrace and the Venus de Milo in her hands.

The winner of the Miss Universe competition will be announced on Sunday morning (November 17th).
