A significant temperature drop is expected this weekend, marking a drastic change in the weather conditions. The director of the National Meteorological Service, Theodoros Kolydas, noted in his post that on Sunday, the temperature will noticeably decline from north to south by as much as 10 degrees Celsius.
“Get ready for gusty winds and chilly weather on Sunday,” Kolydas posted, adding:
“Rain and thunderstorms on Saturday in the Ionian, western, central, and northern mainland, the islands of the eastern Aegean, western Crete, and briefly in other areas. However, from the morning hours and from the west, the weather will gradually improve, with phenomena subsiding by evening in the Aegean, eastern Evia, and northern Crete. Light snowfall is possible in the northwest early in the day. Winds will blow northwest at 5-7 Beaufort in the west, reaching up to 8 in the Ionian, weakening by night. In the east, winds will initially be southwesterly at 5-7 Beaufort, up to 8 locally in the central and northern Aegean, quickly turning northwest at 6-8 Beaufort with evening calming in the northeast.”
