Thessaloniki: Driver dpeeds through red lights and crashes into four parked cars

The arrested driver faced the prescribed traffic violation penalties

Scenes straight out of a movie unfolded early Sunday morning in the center of Thessaloniki, as a 32-year-old flagrantly violated traffic laws in an attempt to evade the police.

According to the police, the 32-year-old was driving in the city center when, upon spotting the officers, he accelerated, ran through red lights, and made illegal overtaking maneuvers. Eventually, he crashed into four parked vehicles.

Officers from the Crime Prevention and Suppression Department of the Thessaloniki Crime Investigation Directorate managed to locate and arrest the reckless driver. The prescribed penalties for traffic violations were imposed on him.

The arrested individual will be brought before the competent judicial authorities.
