The G7 foreign ministers called on Israel to agree to a ceasefire with Hezbollah in Lebanon, stating that “now is the time to reach a diplomatic resolution.”
In a draft communiqué at the conclusion of the two-day G7 summit in Fiuggi, Italy, the ministers urged Israel to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to Palestinians and condemned the increasing violence by settlers in the West Bank.
The ministers also condemned the recent attack on the UN peacekeeping mission in Lebanon (UNIFIL) and expressed their support for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), emphasizing its “vital role.”
