Severe disruptions have impacted the railway network along the Athens-Thessaloniki axis due to the recent storm, Bora. As a result, Hellenic Train has announced that today’s Intercity service will be operated by buses.

“Due to the effects of severe weather on the railway infrastructure, today’s IC51 Thessaloniki-Athens route will be carried out by buses, which will make all scheduled stops,” the Hellenic Train statement read.

On Sunday afternoon, torrential rain caused a suspension of train services along the Larissa–Katerini line when water flooded the tunnel at the Tempi station.

According to an announcement via Hellenic Train’s Telegram channel, routes between Larissa and Thessaloniki were temporarily conducted by buses.

Specifically, the IC54 (Athens-Thessaloniki), departing at 17:58, and the IC57 (Thessaloniki-Athens), departing at 17:10, were serviced by buses on the Larissa-Thessaloniki and Thessaloniki-Larissa segments, respectively, with stops at Katerini and Platy stations.
